Breathe into your life w/ Radiohead
Some days I get into my head.
If I am not paying attention, sometimes days turn into weeks, and in the blink of an eye, I find myself falling into some old pitfalls and patterns that come back into my life, testing and poking me.
That’s life. It’s normal.
We get a flow. And sometimes, we unflow.
After a few months of un-flow, I came back to one of my favorite practices: breathing.
I am not one of those hardcore students of breath work. I enjoy short and gentle breaths that help me move the energy from the head center to the heart center. I like when practices are easy, like a breeze, and feel like nourishment instead of punishment. I like simple things. And I like when practices change, evolve, and move the same way my mood or my inner season do.
This year is a whoa-what’s-happening-type of year, our nervous system more than ever needs deep, gentle support.
I adore, adore, adore this breath work created by Tara Zinnamon on the Open app. And while we’re at it, let’s talk for two seconds about this app: Open
I’ve always been a little resistant to meditation apps, as I am more of a free-flow type of bird, but this one came on my path in a moment I needed it the most. What I loved about it is that breath work, meditation, and yoga sessions change every day and are curated based on what you like. If, like me, you get bored easily and like change even in your daily practice, give Open a try (and let me know what you think).
On a different note, here below is the breath work I have been doing every day for the past two months. I’m also a Radiohead fan, so that helps ;)
